Prodrive Advanced Technology is our performance engineering consultancy where we partner with clients across the automotive, aerospace and defence sectors to deepen understanding and accelerate delivery. We bring together agile, multi-disciplined teams, often working from first principles, to develop intelligent engineering solutions that range from complex electro-mechanical interior systems to the delivery of electrification programmes.

Due to an internal promotion, we are now seeking a delivery focused Technical Director. You’ll head up our multi-disciplined engineering team to help us strengthen our growing reputation and position as a recognised leader in the sectors and specialisms we operate in. You’ll have the credibility and experience to add value to our well -established markets, but the agility and vision to identify and develop the capabilities, technologies and processes that will drive compelling, relevant and desirable propositions for our current and new customers.

Your challenge:

  • Own, develop and deliver our customer centric and sustainability focused engineering and technical strategy
  • Ensure appropriate capabilities, resources, processes and methods are in place and effectively utilised ensuring profitable technical outputs are delivered across Programmes
  • Nurture an environment that develops capability and creates professional, motivated and high-performing engineering teams across the systems V cycle
  • Develop and positively exploit senior level relationships with customers, suppliers, the wider business community and relevant government agencies, representing and promoting Prodrive’s technical capability
  • Proactively support business development activities, including client development and representation of Prodrive at client presentations, conferences and business functions


  • Relevant engineering degree level qualification or above
  • Chartered Engineer with a relevant body such as the IET or IMechE is desirable
  • High level of technical skill with relevant experience within an automotive, aerospace or electrification sector
  • Proven track record of technical project and programme delivery
  • Experienced delivery of major business development initiatives and senior client liaison
  • Excellent communication skills, both formal and informal
  • Able to lead by example, representing Prodrive culture and corporate image both internally and externally
  • Analytical, strategic thinker, able to understand and explain complex concepts
