Joining one focused and driven team, you will challenge boundaries in order to change the game for our customers. Our Advanced Technology business is where we combine our pace and agility with free-thinking to deliver complex engineering solutions and specialist manufacturing programmes to the automotive, aerospace, marine, and defence sectors, accelerating the net zero journey for our customers. Our current portfolio includes a diverse range of projects, including novel suspension systems for military applications, innovative aircraft seating systems, a ‘last mile’ 18 tonne electric delivery truck and the design and delivery of a new hydraulic control system for a hypercar.

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join Prodrive Advanced Technology. You will have extensive skills in at least one major CAD system, with an excellent understanding of design processes, material selection and detailed design.  You will have experience as a design engineer and take ownership of mechanical systems, from concept through to production.

Essential

  • Experience designing mechanical components and systems
  • Experience in a major CAD system (e.g. CATIA V5), producing detailed drawings to a high standard with the correct application of GD&T as necessary
  • Sound theoretical and practical approach to engineering solutions
  • The ability to integrate and work closely with other disciplines, as well as to be keen to adapt and develop in areas outside your personal knowledge
  • Preparation of BOM’s and other project documents to fulfil project and process requirements
  • Experience in supporting the development of junior team members

Desired

  • A background in automotive or aerospace design
  • Experience in dealing directly with customers and suppliers
  • Project management experience
  • The ability to work with skilled technicians to support the build and development of parts, sub-assemblies and vehicle builds
  • Experience of rig and vehicle testing for development and sign off
  • Knowledge of simulation tools and using them to accelerate development

What can we offer you?

  • An attractive salary which will grow in line with your ongoing development and impact
  • 25 days holiday (which increases with long service) with an opportunity to purchase up to 15 extra days
  • Training opportunities for continuing professional development
  • Onsite subsidised staff restaurant
  • Car and pension salary sacrifice schemes
  • Cyclescheme
  • Exercise classes
  • Paid time off for volunteering
  • Consultations with our Fit 4 Life expert
  • Social events throughout the year
  • Exclusive company discounts
  • Life assurance
