At Prodrive we combine our motorsport ethos with free thinking to redefine the possible. We design, develop then manufacture world championship winning race and rally cars. We then also provide ongoing supportto  a variety of programmes including full works teams and customer programmes in international race and rally series.  

Our portfolio of programmes is diversifying and exciting new avenues of work including electric, synthetic fuel and hydrogen programmes have resulted in the creation of this new role.  As our Project Management Accountant you will work with our engineering, programme and operational teams to provide accurate cost and BOM information to ensure the financial implications of programmes are understood from the outset and well tracked during delivery.

Your insight and analysis will identify the performance levers that need adjusting through the course of the programmes highlighting commercial opportunities in a timely manner.  Your impact will lead to improvement in transparent reporting, help drive effective decision making, ensure course correction and help maximise the commercial return. This role will also support the Finance Manager with an element of management accounting support.

  • Preparation of cost models and forecasts to be factored into programme bids and budgets
  • Verification of business performance data and programme management reporting to ensure costs, margins and other KPI’s are aligned to business operating systems and deliver profitability analysis on a timely basis.
  • Develop and monitor relevant actual and forecast variances for programmes and departmentsbecoming the go to person for financial information / progress on projects vs budget.
  • Develop and improve management information for the leadership team and programme managers.
  • Completion of the month end reporting process, including profit and loss, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow statement and presentation of summary information pack to local management.
  • Support with the completion of year-end audit file and liaison with auditors.

Who we are looking for…

You’ll report the numbers but you will need to influence them too, adding demonstrable value. You’ll have natural collaborative and influential style and be able to establish credibility and strong relationships quickly.  A strong communicator with an ability to interrpret then concisely articulate the insights your data supports, you will be comfortable challenging business leaders. Resilient and pragmatic you will be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to build consensus to drive the right commercial outcomes.

Our ideal candidate will have experience within Programme Management or a Management Accountant role, within a similar  environment. Strong numeracy skills, ideally you will be part qualified CIMA/ACCA or equivalent. You will have strong IT system skills including Microsoft Excel.  The ability or experience of using a fully integrated accounting system is essential, as well as the ability to create financial and nonfinancial reports for operational and executive use.
