Our Motorsport Companyfor the last 14 years has been the business behind the Aston Martin Racing works programme in the FIA World Endurance Championship and at Le Mans. Motorsport have also developed the most technologically advanced World Rallycross car, the Renault Megane R.S. RX racing in the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship.
We are now searching for a No 1 Race Technician to lead a small team at the factory and on events. You will be based in Banbury, where you will be responsible for race car build, repair and event support.
To carry out work competently and within the times laid down by the Chief Mechanic.
Keep the Chief Mechanic informed at all times of any additional work necessary on a car during build or repair
Ensure car is always to the correct specification.
Lead the team of technicians at the factory and at tests or race meetings lead the team of technicians and other support staff ensuring the car preparation is to the highest standard and on time
Understand the timeline and ensure members of your team act accordingly, working overtime as the programme dictates
To ensure that the vehicles worked on are carefully handled and that all reasonable care is taken to prevent any form of damage being caused to them.
To adopt safe working practices at all times in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company policy, drawing to the attention of the Chief Mechanic any matter of concern relating to safety of equipment or safety procedures they cannot resolve
Provide guidance and training to ensure your team are meeting agreed quality and performance targets
Carry out regular staff appraisals and briefings, bringing any problems or issues promptly to the attention of Chief Mechanic or Race Team management
Liaison with Engineering when required
Interact with other departments, intern ensuring there are no un-necessary delays
Adhoc duties as specified by the Chief Mechanic or race team management
Maintain and improve site standards in accordance with company expectations
It Is essential that you have a high level of experience in motorsports, Formula 1, Sportscar or similar.
You need to be flexible with both your time and your approach
You need to have a can do attitude.
You need to be confident and competent leader
