We are looking for a Material Planner to ensure the accurate and timely flow of materials across the business through precise processing of IFS transactions, logical problem-solving, and data-driven decision making. This includes proactively identifying and chasing shortages, while coordinating closely with Car Build, Aftersales, and Purchasing teams to maintain material availability in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process shop-orders, ensuring orders are managed through the booking in and out process using IFS, Excel and company helpdesk software.
  • Ensure shop-order content is accurate for all jobs.
  • Produce shortage reports and liaise with all other stakeholders within the business regarding the supply of parts or the delivery of any orders processed internally.
  • Work with internal suppliers and purchasing team to ensure the timely supply of components.
  • Plan build orders and liaise with Purchasing to ensure accurate and timely delivery information is communicated back to the sales team.
  • Assist in expediting parts to the build areas, liaising with the purchasing department, inspection and stores as required.
  • Ensure all errors and discrepancies are investigated thoroughly and the relevant individuals are informed i.e. Supervisor and buyer.
  • Carry out any other administrative duties as requested by the department management team.
  • Be fully conversant with the Company computer system in all areas relating to the workshops.
  • Assist project management with any project requirements and material supply.
  • Work across a range of Motorsport projects.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have previous planning or administrative experience within a manufacturing environment and hold GCSEs in English and Maths. You will be highly proficient in Excel, with a strong level of overall computer literacy and confidence working with systems and data. A logical and analytical mindset is essential, with the ability to solve problems quickly and accurately, often anticipating potential issues before they arise. You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy, and comfortable managing large volumes of administrative and transactional work. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are key, along with the ability to prioritise effectively and operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You will be proactive, self-motivated, and able to take ownership of your workload to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
