 We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support full programme launch cycle from early design stages, through virtual & physical builds to production. To influence design for manufacture and deliver efficient manufacturing processes and effective manufacturing facilities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Influence design for manufacturing assembly
  • Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and associated documentation
  • Lead virtual build assessment of design and manufacturing process
  • Support DFMEA and lead PFMEA activities
  • Plan manpower requirements for manufacturing projects
  • Plan and implement manufacturing facilities for new and existing programmes
    • Ensure facilities and processes satisfy health and safety legislation requirements
  • Perform feasibility studies in conjunction with program management
  • Cost estimation and cost reduction for manufacturing projects
  • Support other functional areas with lean process development always seeking to create the most efficient processes possible
    • Support smooth day to day running of manufacturing programs
    • Liaison with buyers, engineers, internal production staff and external suppliers
    • Drive improvement in quality and cost within manufacturing areas

You:

  • Educated to HND level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • Previous manufacturing engineering experience essential
  • Lean Manufacturing Green or Black Belt is desired
  • Experience in automotive OEM or 1st Tier supplier preferred
  • Vehicle or vehicle sub-system background preferred
  • Leading cross functional teams to deliver programme requirements
