We are recruiting for a Technical Project Lead (IPTL) to work alongside the Programme Manager and lead the integrated project team to deliver the project by following a structured, systems-engineering V-model approach in accordance with Prodrive engineering & project delivery processes and engineering best practice.  

What will I be doing?

The Technical Project Lead (IPTL) is responsible for the overall engineering delivery of project(s) in accordance with the agreed customer requirements and Prodrive business objectives from inception, through the entire project lifecycle to final customer acceptance & sign-off. 

The IPTL will work alongside the Programme Manager and lead the integrated project team to deliver the project by following a structured, systems-engineering V-model approach in accordance with Prodrive engineering & project delivery processes and engineering best practice.   

Key Responsibilities.

  • To lead the integrated project team to ensure that the design & development of the integrated engineering solution is compatible with customer requirements and business objectives
  • Act as primary customer technical interface, managing the delegation of engineering meetings amongst the engineering team as appropriate, and leading the review and negotiation of changes & deviations to requirements with the customer
  • To ensure that design & development of the integrated engineering solution is compatible with the agreed customer requirements & Prodrive business objectives, from initial concept through to verification and final validation
  • To lead the requirements management process, the definition, decomposition and balancing of all stakeholder needs, and to ensure that project requirements are achieved with successful final customer sign-off
  • Responsible for the management of all engineering risks & issues, leading issue resolution & risk mitigation planning
  • Ensure the deployment of Prodrive engineering processes, systems engineering best practice, and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of how we operate

Who are we looking for?

  • Relevant experience in a senior engineering role with proven experience of technical team leadership and engineering project delivery
  • Experience in the management of technical projects & associated project management best practice processes (preferably APMP-qualified or similar)
  • Experience in the application of the systems engineering V-diagram & associated engineering best practice processes (eg: DFMEA)
  • Experience in the management of customer requirements, target decomposition & balancing
  • Experience in delivering project quality, cost, function & weight to target
  • Experience of client management and business development
  • Excellent communication skills, both formal and informal
  • Able to lead by example, representing Prodrive culture and corporate image both internally and externally
