European Business Development Manager

Prodrive Advanced Technology (AT) operates across a wide range of industries including automotive, defence, marine and renewable energy. We specialise in the design, development and production of a range of engineered products for the Automotive Sector to include: Active Aero and Suspension Systems; Intelligent Automated Vehicle Interior Systems; Niche Volume Special/Limited Production Vehicles.

We are seeking an experienced, driven individual, developing and converting your own sales leads, working closely with the wider business, particularly Commercial, Finance, Engineering and Production and a proven track record of winning business aligned to core strategic business objectives in the automotive sector, focusing both on systems and whole vehicles. The role will be predominantly field based, working throughout Europe and possibly beyond.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the Head of Business Development and Commercial Director with the development of a rolling 5-year sales and marketing plan for the business following quantitative analysis of both existing and potential markets for our products and services.
• Build and maintain healthy and long-lasting key customer relationships for existing and new customers.
• Provide concise, regular management reporting of all key business metrics.
• Negotiation of contracts to achieve commercially advantageous outcomes.
• Develop and maintain an efficient, dynamic sales plan that focusses on targeted clients to ensure high win-rates.
• Develop and maintain your opportunities pipeline from initial lead through to win.
• Develop a strong understanding of the Prodrive group’s competence and expertise to ensure client solutions benefit from the widest range of Prodrive capability.
• Follow best practice and adherence to business processes.

Who are we looking for?

• Strong background in Business Development or Sales within the Automotive industry working at tier 1 or OEM level.
• Experience of working in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience of working closely with other teams such as Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Marketing, etc.
• A strong team player with drive, passion and enthusiasm with the ability to lead bid teams.
• Demonstrable experience of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Proven ability in excellent proposal leadership, development and writing, along with professional selling and presentation skills.
• Good understanding of vehicle systems/sub-systems and vehicle assembly.
• Understanding of low volume / prototype vehicle manufacture as well as NPI and APQP.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
• Practical experience of using CRM tools to track progress of your opportunities.
• Knowledge of and contacts with Global OEMs would be an advantage.
• Degree in relevant engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent work experience.
• Fluency in French, German, or Italian would be advantageous.
