Joining one focused and driven team, you will challenge boundaries in order to change the game for our customers. We combine our pace and agility with free-thinking to deliver complex engineering solutions and specialist manufacturing programmes to the automotive, aerospace, marine, and defence sectors, accelerating the net zero journey for our customers. We are also the world’s leading independent motorsport company and the business behind some of the greatest names and achievements in motorsport over the last 40 years.

We are looking for a CMM Programmer / Inspector to create, validate and run CMM inspection programmes, as well as carry out dimensional inspection of components to ensure products meet engineering specifications and quality standards. You will work closely with Production and Quality teams, and provide accurate measurement data and inspection reports to support efficient inventory flow and timely decision-making.

This position plays a key part in ensuring process outputs consistently meet the highest standards expected within a motorsport environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, write and validate CMM inspection programmes using PC-DMIS for new products and process-change activity.
  • Run existing CMM inspection programmes to support goods-inwards checks and in-process/first-off inspections from the in-house Machine Shop.
  • Troubleshoot and optimise existing programmes to improve measurement accuracy, repeatability and inspection cycle time.
  • Generate clear, accurate dimensional inspection reports and ballooned inspection drawings.
  • Carry out general dimensional inspection of components against 2D drawings, CAD data and engineering specifications.
  • Use a range of inspection equipment, including Trimos, Mitutoyo SurfTest, hand tools/gauges and hardness testing equipment.
  • Act as a professional technical interface with other departments, clearly communicating inspection results and any areas of concern.

Who are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in a professional metrology and inspection role within motorsport or a low-volume automotive engineering and manufacturing environment; Machine Shop inspection experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to programme and operate a CMM using PC-DMIS software is essential.
  • Completion of a PC-DMIS Level 3 training course is highly desirable.
  • Able to interpret complex 2D engineering drawings, CAD data and GD&T; familiarity with FTA in CAD is desirable.
  • Experience in manual inspection and metrology techniques, with a sound understanding of first principles.
  • Working knowledge of a range of manufacturing methods and commodities, preferably including composites, precision machining (milling/turning), surface coatings and subcontract operations.
  • Excellent time management skills and task deadlines driven.

What can we offer you?

  • An attractive salary which will grow in line with your ongoing development and impact
  • 25 days holiday (which increases with long service) with an opportunity to purchase up to 15 extra days
  • Enhanced family friendly policies (including enhanced maternity and paternity pay)
  • Training opportunities for continuing professional development
  • Onsite subsidised staff restaurant
  • Car and pension salary sacrifice schemes
